London is one of the cities I love the most in fall. I lived there a few years ago and never miss an occasion to go back. I love to shoot with Morgane Lay, a talented Frenchy Londoner, full of positive energy. Mild autumn temperatures allowed me to wear this chic and flowy monochrome look by Nanushka.
A full monochrome look might seem hard to wear, but I believe that if done right, it can look very effortless and put together. As you’ve probably noticed before I’m a big fan of light shades monochrome looks, you can discover my summer version of light blue monochrome look here. I believe a full monochrome outfit makes you look like you spent hours putting your look together when it only took you some second. It is the fastest way to look polished without trying too hard. It feels equally romantic, chic and sharp.
The other thing I love about this Nanushka look is that is made up of multiple pieces. I decided to wear those two pieces as a total look (these are sold separately) as it gives this je ne sais quoi optical effect I love. A full monochrome look is a killer statement, but when it’s made up of multiple pieces, the added value of it is that you can mix and match it with the rest of your wardrobe, which is fantastic for traveling. For example, the Nanuskha outfit I’m wearing above has a top and trousers, but the top by itself can be perfectly matched with jeans; with its high and soft collar it instantly gives a sophisticated look to any OOTD. I could totally wear the trousers with a neutral color sweater or T-shirt and blazer. Perfect for Erin off duty traveling, three chic looks in one.
I have been a big fan of Nanushka, a brand founded by creative director Sandra Sandor. As a niche contemporary women’s wear brand, Nanushka is driven by the desire to build a bridge between intuitive and functional design. It offers easy-to-wear pieces with subtle femininity, elevated quality, and unexpected details. The collections deliver a modern and versatile wardrobe with the aim of creating a new informal form of beauty. The fabrics they use give you this constant luxury feeling. The two-piece ensemble I wore for this shoot is so soft; it makes you feel so cozy and warm, perfect for fall days.
I decided to go for the ‘Classy’ way and mix the monochrome look with Erin Adamson Mercer pumps. After the shoot, I swapped them for Erin Adamson Nella sneakers, perfect for some shopping and visiting endless art galleries London has to offer. I finished off the look with some Anissa Kermiche love at the first sight statement earrings.
Style tip: If head to toe monochrome look seems like an extreme fashion statement for you, you can substitute the pure monochrome ootd with different hues of the same color that are close to each other like turquoise, blue and green or of different shades of the same color. Just don’t forget to choose a color that flatters you.
